Deep within the forests of Acadia, in a curiously moonlit field of wildflowers, exactly three minutes after the New Moon had reached its zenith in the night sky...a tiny bundle of ebony fur, teeth and sharp little claws was born. And her name was Lorelei. On that same night, just moments after her mother named her and given her her first meal, Lorelei's mother disappeared. The circumstances of which remain a mystery. While the young kitten was still napping, a fluttery pixie with glittering wings kissed Lorelei on the nose, waking her up. Both kitten and pixie were enchanted with each other. The pixie was called Tianna and finding that Lorelei was an orphan saddened her greatly. Tianna invited Lorelei back to her village to live, and Lorelei accepted. And so Lorelei was raised by the pixies of Acadia, each accepting the other as their own. And she learned all of their mischevious ways. She learned to frolick in the sun, though the moonlit nights always called to her, enticing her to explore the world on her own under a canopy of stars. She spent hours and hours with the elder pixies, learning the ways of the world, learning that there were other...worlds. And as she grew older, Lorelei became more and more intrigued with the idea that there were more worlds than just Acadia. The more she learned, the more restless she grew. Though the pixies were her family and she loved them, she decided that she needed to go on an adventure. Though the pixies were sad, they agreed that Lorelei should go on an adventure. So the pixies armed Lorelei with a small rucksack filled with food, a small dagger, and a vial of pixie dust. They gave her knowledge of distant relatives in the forests of a world they called Jhoira, they gave her a map and pointed her east and after many tears had fallen and hugs given, they sent young Lorelei on her way. It was the day after her seventeenth birthday. Lorelei spent day after day walking. She explored what she figured was every nook and cranny of Acadia. Eventually she came to a flowing river, and as she looked for a shallow place to cross, she noticed the air was thicker in some spots than it was in others. Intrigued, she stepped into the fog. First her nose went, then her ears, her torso and her tail. As she stepped through the fog and then looked behind her, she noticed it was the same...yet different. So Lorelei wandered this new forest. She learned its name...Loxnarcla. She explored, perfecting her skills of stealth and avoidance, and eventually she came to a circle of trees. Atop the trees, in the canopy above, young Lorelei came upon a fairy, whom she found to be the distant relative that the pixies had spoken of. She recanted her existence from her small beginnings to her life with the pixies (with only seven interruptions!) and the adventures (and sometimes mishaps) that her curious nature meted out to her. The fairy told Lorelei of the other faries who lived in the treetops above Loxnarcla and invited the young feline to live with them for as long as she saw fit. And so Lorelei explored Loxnarcla. She hunted with panthers, ran with wolves, and played daring games with the seven dwarves. She earned respect for herself by fearlessly venturing into the scary Castle Avliva where an apprentice was so enchanted by Lorelei's uncanny beauty that he taught her how to shift herself throughout the realm by way of a mystical gating spell, and so she was able to explore more of her new world, Jhoira. On her adventures, Lorelei met crusaders and mages and dragons. She even found a land called Fizzledink, which housed a town filled with curiously strange blue beings called Smurfs and she decided that as nice as they seemed on the outside that the Smurfs had frightful ulterior motives and were a bit scary. In Gimpville, she met another feline named Gabriel and they became fast friends. Gabriel introduced Lorelei to something called a Casino and eventually Lorelei decided that that was a very naughty thing for him to do. Yes, Lorelei explored and learned many things. She me healers and gnomes who sent her on quests through the realm. She learned that contrary to popular legends, felines have more than nine lives. And she learned how to accept each death with dignity, grace, and a little bit of humour. And although she lives a full and adventurous life surrounded by new experiences and new friends she misses her pixie haven. And no matter where she is, no matter what she is doing, an occasional thought tugs at her conscience...Who am I really? Who do I belong to, and where do I go from here?
