Haon Dor By: Sankin Darkborn Haon Dor, a place of inexplicable horror and evil. Back in the Golden Age, however, it was the center of any true warrior’s training. So much so, a huge coliseum was erected in the center of the Haon Dor forest by the all the wealthy lord of Midgaard to show off all of the most powerful fighters of the realm, and the depths of their wallets. In that time the area that now makes up the evil Haon Dor was not the eerie and god forsaken place it is now, on the contrary, it was a vast and beautiful forest full of life. Well to kick off the opening of the coliseum the nobles decided to hold a massive tournament to decide who is the worlds strongest fighter. Thousands of participants showed up for the tournament and none were turned away. The tournament turned out to be one of the bloodiest yet spiritual sight the world had ever seen. It was told then that the scent of the blood could be picked up all the way from the highest point of the High Tower of Sorcery. After nearly two weeks and some of the most violent fights, a champion had finally been decided. The Champion was Hassan, the now defender of Midgaard. Back then, however, he was a violent and heartless warrior who’s mind thought of one thing and one thing only, death. For two years straight Hassan reigned unopposed as the champion of Haon Dor Coliseum, that is until the third year of his reign. Though in the first couple of months of Hassan’s third year a new, relatively unknown fighter was quickly making his way up the ranks of the coliseum. All that is known about this mysterious fighter is that his name was Delphimaas, and that he wielded a twenty foot katana he called "Masamune". He would literally cut down is opponents with one quick slash of his "Masamune". It was inevitable, in only his fourth month at the coliseum he was granted a shot at the Championship held by Hassan. The day of the match was a cold and dark one, an ominous storm was brewing. The Championship match was being advertised as the so called "Match of the Century". But to be completely honest, the match was incredibly one sided the whole time. Hassan was dethroned after about a six second match, the crowd went absolutely crazy with the excitement of the short match. The sounds of the cheers for Delphimaas could be heard for miles. As Hassan came to Delphimaas, with his head held high, to relinquish his champion crown to him, Delphimaas threw the crown in Hassan’s face and then did one of the most heinous deed ever to be carried out. He went forth and killed every last person in the coliseum, bar none. The only person that survived the slaughtering was Hassan, who had fled like a coward when the fighting broke out. Why Delphimaas had done what he had done was unknown and still is, some say he was Hades’ personal servant but that is truly on a guess. After the massacre, Hassan devoted his life to protecting the people that he had abandoned that day. The coliseum was soon after destroyed and the forest slowly turned darker and darker and darker, until it became what it is today.
