In time, when Scourge and Clare were new to this world, a sliver of a stand
of ethereal web magically touched the realm of Jhoira. Using that strand,
the empress Spider Queen named Arachnos entered into this realm. She quickly
found a home in the woods and with her beauty enslaved those who would come
near. She captured the good Ki-Rin and made her a captive, siphoning magic
from her to give her constant beauty and youth. Among her trusted
taskmasters is a man once feared named Yevaud. He was given the task to
overtake Midgaard and make it a home for Aarchanos to overtake the rest of
this world before moving on to the next. He brought one assault upon the
town of Midgaard but was defeated by the members of the clan Defenders,
protecting the good town. They were sent back to the woods, decimated, and
thought by some to have moved on to easier worlds to control. Still though,
Arachnos uses her beauty, drawn from the good Ki-Rin, to enslave those who
come close enough, building an army that someday may threaten again the town
of Midgaard.
